Sounds of Soul Brisbane DJ's play an eclectic mix of 60’s R&B, Northern Soul, Funk, Latin, Jazz and Gospel all on original 7” vinyl.
Northern Soul is a youth culture which changed a generation. It was a nightclub based movement which developed in Northern England from the late 1960's from the British Mod scene based on a particular style of black American soul music with a heavy beat and fast tempo. It is also associated with particular dance styles and fashions that grew out of the underground rhythm and soul scene of the late 1960s.
Sounds of Soul are very involved with the Australian Soul scene and have also played in the UK and New York in 2025. They are resident DJs at Eleven Bridges, South Brisbane and hold regular events at many venues around the greater Brisbane area. Their music can be found on Mixcloud, YouTube as well as Facebook and Instagram.
